2020: Where Do We Start?

2020 has been a year like no other, and one where ecommerce has been pushed to another level with the reliance on online ordering during the mayhem of a world pandemic. As we all attempt to wind down into something resembling normality (whatever that is?), we’re going to take little a look back at some of the incredible things we’ve achieved this year!

Our Development Projects

The Whisky Barrel – PWA

Our first Progressive Web Application, we’re chuffed to bits with it (even if we do say so ourselves!). You can find out more about The Whisky Barrel’s PWA in our case study

Kiltane – Magento 2 Redevelopment

It was getting very close to Christmas campaign time of year but we managed to get there in the end. We’re incredibly proud of this Magento 2 website with its classic elegance, showcasing Kiltane’s products beautifully. We’re also pretty chuffed with the exceptional results since launch. Find out more about Kiltane’s Magento 2 project in our case study.

Highland Soap – Shopify

It has been quite a year for the Highland Soap Company, not only have they built and opened a state of the art visitor centre and factory in Fort William, they’ve launched a new website to boot! Using Shopify, the new Highland Soap website is faster than a fast thing and a dream on mobile.

Campaigns Off The Scale!

November has been the busiest month any of us have ever experienced, not to mention our clients. The Christmas, Black Friday and Cyber Monday campaigns have kept the marketing team on their toes but the results are outstanding. The results speak for themselves, the stats below are all campaigns run in our Google MCC account in November.

Record breaking November campaign results from Digital Six

Across the advertising platform board, there were phenomenal results achieved with some campaigns achieving a mind-blowing 11,000% ROAS – when we say were are obsessed with results, we mean it!

Our Clients

Our clients…we wouldn’t be Digital Six without them so we thought we’d give a few a special mention to the ones that went above and beyond this year (the list below is by no means exhaustive!)

  • ETB Technologies for keeping the cogs for the nation turning due to their superior skills with refurbished servers, networks and storage. Working behind the scenes, supplying and supporting essential IT infrastructures with hardware and support during lockdown and beyond.
  • The Highland Soap Company for not only have they been rallying round to make sure you are all supplied with hand wash and soaps, but they’ve also been keeping our NHS and Care workers’ hands nourished with supplies of hand cream.
  • iHear stepped up to make WFH as easy as possible for those who are deaf or suffer hearing loss. Working from home has been a huge upheaval for most but for those who are deaf and/or rely on assistive hearing technology, it has been tougher than most.
  • The Whisky Barrel has been supporting Poppy Scotland since 2017 and this year was no different. They donated the proceeds from their Gift Wrapping Service to Poppy Scotland during November – a whopping £710 was raised this year!

And last but by no means least, our ever awesome team!

Our small team isn’t that small any more, we’ve been lucky enough to have 5 awesome humans join the ranks of TeamD6 and are chuffed to bits to be able to share the fabulousness of Digital Six with more like-minded ecommerce peeps! (Leila in Marketing, Simone in Account Management, Tom in Support, and Gabriel and Arol join the Dev Team)

We also managed to stage the most epic of Christmas parties, digitally! Murder Mystery via Zoom was side-splittingly hilarious, although we’re not sure any of us would be hired for the vacancy of Police Sketch Artist……we’ll just stick to building ecommerce websites and running campaigns!

We really wouldn’t have made it through without our dedicated team (new and old!) who have tirelessly worked their socks off this year to make things happen and produce some epic work from our development projects and support through to the campaigns we’ve run. It takes an entire team to make things happen and we are very proud of everything that #TeamD6 has achieved this year!

Everyone at Digital Six would like to wish our clients, partners and friends a Merry Christmas and all the very best for 2021!
