The Challenge
Established in 1997, EuroPC is one of Europe’s leading suppliers of certified refurbished computer products including laptops, desktops, servers, monitors and workstations. Due to their strong relationships with leading vendors, the company is able to offer their products at the best possible price. EuroPC supply to consumers and business entities, based throughout the UK and internationally.
EuroPC’s website was based on an old version of Magento and and the site was due both an upgrade and a design refresh. The company’s focus was to modernise their online retail channel by rolling out a visually appealing and robust site on Magento 2.
Magento 2 Migration
Magento 2 includes a great deal of out of the box functionality that has helped improve EuroPC’s website performance and allowed us to create a much better shopping experience. For example, Magento 2 offers a streamlined checkout process, making it quick and easy for EuroPC’s customers to make a purchase. Another advantage of the site migrating to Magento 2 is that it enables the EuroPC team to manage the website more easily and efficiently. The new admin interface is more user friendly and creating products in the admin panel is a much quicker process with up to four times faster product import capabilities compared to Magento 1.
The new site has much clearer navigation than before. The menus previously offered few options, however the new site features mega menus that allow visitors to shop by brand or use. The search functionality has also improved greatly. We integrated the Elastic Search extension which includes autocomplete suggestions and allows for spelling mistakes.
Magento 2 allowed us to tailor the EuroPC website to their exact requirements due to the high degree of flexibility it offers.
