Share Multiple Photos and Videos in One Post

Last Wednesday, Instagram announced it’s rolling out a new feature that allows users to upload up to 10 photos or 60-second videos in one post. Although you could already share a collection of images and videos using Stories, these are only accessible for 24 hours and don’t reach as many people as Instagram’s main feed.

When you click on the button to upload onto your feed, you’ll see a ‘select multiple’ option alongside the boomerang and collage icons. You can then choose the images and videos you want to upload from your mobile’s library. The order of images can be changed by simply tapping and dragging, and you can edit the images either as a whole or individually.

Keep in mind that the multi-image post can only have one caption and are in a square format.

A couple of months ago, Instagram Business Page was rolled out to UK users. The visible difference between this and a normal Instagram page is that contact and location information is available. This encourages Instagram users to get in touch as they can tap the Contact button to either call or email. Users can also click on the location link which then displays a map to help them get directions to your physical store.

The other huge benefit of switching to an Instagram Business Page is the Insights feature. This can help you understand all sorts of things including which posts get the most engagement and what time of day you should be scheduling your Instagram posts. These are the insights currently available:

  • Which days of the week your followers are most active – displayed as a bar graph.
  • What time of each day your followers are most active – also displayed as a bar graph.
  • Follower demographics: age range, gender and top locations
  • The most popular posts. This will show your posts ranked in order of impressions in the past 30 days. However, you can filter this from the past week to the past 2 years and by not only impressions but also reach, engagement, likes, comments and saved
  • How many people viewed your profile in the past week compared to the previous week
  • The impressions (number of times your post was seen) compared to the previous week
  • The reach (number of unique accounts who viewed your post) compared to the previous week
  • The number of times your website link was clicked compared to the previous week
  • The number of times people use the Send Message option on your story
  • The number of times people exited your story early (before the final image or video has finished)
