Javascript Developer

We are one of Scotland’s leading e-commerce agencies and are seeking an experienced and talented Javascript Developer to join our team.
This is a varied role within an exciting company that is growing rapidly within the ecommerce market.
We have a reputation for building websites with an exceptional design, utilising cutting-edge web development techniques. With a large number of client wins, we are on track to make a big impact in the ecommerce market and need to expand our team.
We are looking for a talented Javascript developer position to champion Progressive Web App development within the team. Our ideal candidate will have experience with the popular ecommerce solution, Magento but this is not a requirement. You will be an excellent communicator with strong time management skills and the ability to work to deadlines.

You should be self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a larger team. You will be responsible for implementation of cutting-edge ecommerce solutions. You will also be involved in the planning and strategy behind our PWA projects.

Essential Skills

  • Javascript development. We use Vanilla JS, React, jQuery, Knockout, Angular.
  • Strong grasp of modern UX/UI principles
  • Experience with:
    • Service workers
    • Task runners
    • Package managers
    • CSS preprocessors
    • Version control software (Git, SVN)
  • Experience with speed testing and optimisation of websites from a front end perspective
  • Knowledge of A/AA/AAA accessibility requirements
  • Great communication skills and proven ability to work within a team environment
  • A passion for constant learning and discovery within your discipline
  • Beneficial Skills

    The following skills are not a requirement for the applications but will be very useful in the role:
  • PHP, MySQL
  • Magento 2 or Shopify Plus Experience
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs
  • Gatsby
  • Prismic
  • Deity Falcon
  • Thorough knowledge of the full lifecycle of digital projects from strategy, UX, creative to technical delivery
  • Experienced with good SEO practice in page markup (semantic HTML, use of schema, rich snippet markup)
