Front End Developer

We are one of Scotland’s leading e-commerce agencies and are seeking an experienced and talented Front End Developer to join our team. This is a varied role within an exciting company that is growing rapidly within the ecommerce market.
We have a reputation for building websites with an exceptional design, utilising cutting-edge web development techniques. With a large number of client wins, we are on track to make a big impact in the ecommerce market and need to expand our team.
We are looking for a talented front end developer position with a keen eye for detail to join our team. You will be implementing beautiful ecommerce websites for local and national retail brands from PSD files. You will be required to execute sophisticated front-end user experiences using HTML, CSS, XML and JavaScript. Our ideal candidate will have experience with the popular ecommerce solution, Magento but this is not a requirement.
You will be an excellent communicator with strong time management skills and the ability to work to deadlines. You should be self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a larger team. You will be responsible for the front end implementation of major brand websites and must be able to deliver pixel-perfect, high-quality user experiences across all modern devices.
Essential Skills
  • HTML5, CSS3, jQuery and Javascript
  • Strong grasp of modern UX/UI principles
  • Adobe Photoshop
  • Excellent attention to detail including pixel-perfect execution of responsive designs
  • Experience with speed testing and optimisation of websites from a front end perspective
  • Knowledge of A/AA/AAA accessibility requirements
  • Great communication skills and proven ability to work within a team environment
  • A passion for constant learning and discovery within your discipline
  • Beneficial Skills

  • Version control software (Git, SVN)
  • PHP, MySQL
  • Magento or Shopify Experience
  • ReactJS
  • Experience building email templates for Mailchimp or Campaign Monitor
  • Experience in testing email templates
  • CSS preprocessors such as LESS/Sass
  • Thorough knowledge of the full lifecycle of digital projects from strategy, UX, creative to technical delivery
  • Experienced with good SEO practice in page markup (semantic HTML, use of schema, rich snippet markup)
